MS 181 C-BE petrol chainsaw: Shines in grounds maintenance
The STIHL MS 181 C-BE petrol chainsaw is a powerful tool for groands maintenance and features comfortable operation. The advantages of the MS 181 C-BE are particularly appreciated during demanding tasks in domestic settings and by skilled trades. The version with a bar length of 40 cm is also suitable for felling smaller trees.
The STIHL 2-MIX engine offers high cutting performance with economical fuel consumption. During starting, the strength-saving STIHL ErgoStart function halves the effort required compared to conventional STIHL starting systems. You can use the manual fuel pump to pump petrol into the carburettor after a long period of non-operation, making it even easier to start. During use, single-lever operation means you can work with less effort, while the practical metal claw stop lets you easily and precisely guide the petrol-powered chainsaw as you cut.
The STIHL MS 181 C-BE is also equipped with STIHL Quick Chain Tensioning, which you can use to re-tension the saw chain easily and safely without tools. Pre-separation routing ensures the chainsaw operates at high efficiency and for a very long time without needing to clean the filter. It does this by removing coarse particles en route to the air filter.
To protect your muscles and joints while still delivering high performance, the STIHL anti-vibration system reduces engine and work tool vibrations.
FOR LOWER FUEL CONSUMPTION AND HIGH PERFORMANCE. Thanks to STIHL four-channel technology, you can work with your power tool with very low fuel consumption and high performance. The four overflow channels guide the fuel-and-air mixture into the cylinder in a targeted and more compressed manner, which optimally burns the fuel and significantly increases the performance of the engine.
STIHL QUICK CHAIN TENSIONING
RE-TENSION THE SAW CHAIN TOOL-FREE. Thanks to STIHL Quick Chain Tensioning, you can tension your saw chain quickly and without tools, thanks to the adjusting wheel. Turning the adjusting wheel to the left releases tension on the saw chain, and turning the adjustment wheel to the right tensions the saw chain. The guide bar will be automatically secured when you tighten the sprocket cover.
STIHL ANTI-VIBRATION SYSTEM
Intense vibration at the handles of power tools can lead to longer-term effects of blood vessels in the hands and arms. STIHL have therefore developed an effective anti-vibration system where by the oscillations from the machines engine are dampened which significantly reduces vibrations at the handles.
COMPENSATOR
REDUCED MAINTENANCE. The compensator is a control system in the carburettor, which uses pressure compensation to ensure that engine performance, exhaust gas quality and fuel consumption remain virtually constant over a long period of time, despite increasing contamination of the air filter. You do not need to clean the air filter until there is a noticeable drop in performance. This means that you can work for a long time without maintenance.
MANUAL FUEL PUMP
A small fuel pump delivers fuel to the carburettor at the touch of a button. This reduces the number of starting strokes required from a cold start.
STIHL Easy2start
EFFORTLESS STARTING. STIHL Easy2start saves you energy when starting your power tools. A smooth and even pull on the starter cord is all that’s needed. The required speed on the starter cord is significantly reduced, and the engine starts quickly and reliably even with a slow pull. An additional spring between the crankshaft and the starter cord roll makes this easier.
TOOL-FREE FUEL CAP FOR OIL AND FUEL TANKS
QUICK AND EASY TO USE. With tool-free fuel cap, you can open and close oil and fuel tanks in just a few simple steps, thanks to a bayonet closure.
STIHL 2-MIX Engine
The STIHL 2-MIX engine is both powerful and economical. Separating the exhaust emissions from the unburnt gas minimises scavenging losses, and therefore increases the power output while reducing consumption.
The two-stroke engine with STIHL 2-MIX technology saves up to 20% of fuel and reduces emissions by up to 70% compared to STIHL 2-stroke engines of the same performance class without 2-MIX technology.
