FS 240 Petrol Brushcutter: Powerful Performance for Demanding Clearing
The STIHL FS 240 Petrol Brushcutter is a powerful and durable machine designed for agriculture, horticulture and demanding vegetation management. Built to handle thick grass, scrub and thorny growth, it delivers the performance needed for challenging clearing and maintenance tasks.
Powered by the STIHL 2-MIX engine, the FS 240 combines strong cutting performance with excellent fuel efficiency, while the large fuel tank allows longer working periods with fewer refuelling stops. The integrated stop switch automatically returns the tool to the start position, enabling quick and convenient restarts after breaks.
Supplied with a STIHL AutoCut 36-2, with a wide 450mm cutting diameter, the FS 240 is ready to tackle dense vegetation straight out of the box. The bike handle supports a natural mowing motion for comfortable operation across large areas, while the ADVANCE Grip handle provides intuitive, ergonomic control.
To improve comfort during extended use, the STIHL Anti-Vibration System helps reduce vibration transferred to the operator, minimising fatigue and strain. A double shoulder harness is included to evenly distribute the machine's weight, and the long-life air filter extends maintenance intervals to maximise productivity.
A small fuel pump delivers fuel to the carburettor at the touch of a button. This reduces the number of starting strokes required from a cold start.
LONG AIR FILTER SERVICE LIFE
ENSURES LONG CHANGEOVER INTERVALS. Thanks to its long service life, you rarely need to change the easily accessible filter. This saves resources and reduces maintenance effort.
COMPENSATOR
REDUCED MAINTENANCE. The compensator is a control system in the carburettor, which uses pressure compensation to ensure that engine performance, exhaust gas quality and fuel consumption remain virtually constant over a long period of time, despite increasing contamination of the air filter. You do not need to clean the air filter until there is a noticeable drop in performance. This means that you can work for a long time without maintenance.
STOP BUTTON
RESTART WORK QUICKLY. With the stop button, you can switch off your power tool quickly and easily for a short break, for example. As the button springs back to its original position after actuation, the engine is immediately ready to start again. This provides more comfort after breaks and increases your work efficiency.
ERGONOMIC BIKE HANDLE
EFFORTLESS MOWING OF LARGE AREAS. The ergonomic bike handle helps you mow large areas quickly and effortlessly, as this handle supports a natural brushcutter movement. The bike handle is easy to adjust and secure.
TOOL-FREE HANDLE ADJUSTMENT
SET THE BIKE HANDLE POSITION. You can individually adjust the ergonomic bike handle (mowing handle) using the central clamping device. Thanks to the tool-free handle adjustment, you do not need any tools for this. The bike handle can be rotated 90 degrees for transport and space-saving storage.
CHANGEOVER BETWEEN SUMMER AND WINTER OPERATION
EASY CONVERSION THANKS TO SLIDERS. You can easily adapt your work tool to the different conditions of the seasons. A slider allows you to easily switch between summer and winter operation. The winter setting ensures that the air filter and carburettor do not ice up
LARGE FUEL TANK
The large fuel tank allows you to work longer without having to refuel. Thanks to its transparent material, you can check the fill level of your tank quickly and easily. The filler cap is firmly attached so that you cannot lose it.
STIHL 2-MIX Engine
The STIHL 2-MIX engine is both powerful and economical. Separating the exhaust emissions from the unburnt gas minimises scavenging losses, and therefore increases the power output while reducing consumption.
The two-stroke engine with STIHL 2-MIX technology saves up to 20% of fuel and reduces emissions by up to 70% compared to STIHL 2-stroke engines of the same performance class without 2-MIX technology.
STIHL ANTI-VIBRATION SYSTEM
Intense vibration at the handles of power tools can lead to longer-term effects of blood vessels in the hands and arms. STIHL have therefore developed an effective anti-vibration system where by the oscillations from the machines engine are dampened which significantly reduces vibrations at the handles.
POWER LEVELS
INTEGRATION INTO STIHL CONNECTED. The power tool is compatible with the Smart Connector, meaning it can be integrated into the STIHL connected system. Once you have attached a Smart Connector to the power tool, after one-time commissioning it will record the power tool’s operating hours and transmit them to the STIHL connected App via Bluetooth. In addition to displaying the operational time, the app also provides an overview of all necessary maintenance, ensuring that you do not overlook important upkeep and that your power tool is always in a ready-to-use condition.
